Does Pinterest Have Value for CRE?
Pinterest, is the latest craze in the social networking world. Earlier this week TechCrunch reported that Pinterest reached 11.7 million monthly active users. Whether they are indeed the fastest independent site to reach 10 million monthly uniques in the U.S. has been questioned. Regardless, brands and content marketers have taken notice and are experimenting with tactics to target consumers. So does Pinterest have value as a marketing tool for CRE?
I can assure you won’t find many commercial real estate professionals on the site at this point, unless they are female, and it would seem that the application would present more benefit to retail and B2C brands than B2B. Nevertheless, I am going to experiment with Pinterest and see if I can get any value from the site. Pinterest is an inherently visual experience and I expect we will see some innovative marketing tactics from brand managers and enterprising marketers applied to the latest hot social network.
Snicker if you want, I am starting to be bombarded with notifications that someone new is following me on Pinterest. Most are women, which is the dominant demographic among Pinterest users. I am not sure if it will help me develop any new business, but I am a single guy, so it can’t hurt. Ladies love Pinning!

Way to step out! I predict it has value, and we’ll want to add it to our arsenals…Chris Clark has a good CRE Pinterest post today, as well: http://creoutsider.com/2012/02/pinterest/
